Beautiful Plants For Your Interior
Payment Policy
Your security and convenience are top priorities at Shedora. We want you to feel confident when you shop with us, knowing that your payment information is handled safely and that the payment process is straightforward. Below we outline the payment methods we accept, how we protect your payment data, and what to expect during checkout.
Accepted Payment Methods
We offer a variety of payment options to make your purchase as convenient as possible:
- Credit / Debit Cards: We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, and Visa Electron. Simply enter your card details at checkout. Your card will be charged in GBP (£) for the total amount of your order.
- Apple Pay / Google Pay: (If enabled on our site.) We support express checkout options like Apple Pay or Google Pay for quick, secure payments using the stored cards in your mobile wallet. If you’re on a compatible device and browser, you’ll see these options at checkout.
- Bank Transfer / Direct Deposit: (Currently not offered as an automated option during online checkout.) If you are unable to use the above methods and wish to pay via direct bank transfer, please contact us. In special cases, we can arrange an order manually and provide our bank details for a transfer. Note that the order will only be shipped after the payment clears, which can take a few days.
- Cash on Delivery: We do not offer cash on delivery. All orders must be paid in full at the time of ordering (or through one of the electronic methods above) before we dispatch the goods.
All prices on our website are in British Pounds (GBP). If your payment method operates in a different currency, your bank or card provider will handle the currency conversion, and you may incur a small conversion fee according to their policies.
Secure Checkout Process
Shopping at Shedora is safe. We have implemented strong security measures to protect your financial information:
- SSL Encryption: Our entire website, including the checkout process, is secured with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. This means any data you enter (such as your card number or personal info) is encrypted so that it cannot be read by anyone else as it travels over the internet. Always look for the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar when you’re on our site, especially on payment pages.
- PCI Compliance: We use reputable payment gateways that are PCI-DSS compliant, which is the security standard for handling card data. This compliance ensures that your card details are processed in a secure environment. Our payment processing partners have strict security protocols.
- No Card Data Stored: Shedora does not store your full card details on our servers. When you enter your card information at checkout, it is securely transmitted to our payment processor for authorization. We might store a token or reference provided by the payment gateway (for record-keeping or refunds), but this token cannot be used to reconstruct your card number. For example, we may see the last 4 digits of your card for identification on your order, but not the full number or CVV.
- 3D Secure / 2-Factor Authentication: Our payment system may prompt you for additional verification during payment (e.g., Verified by Visa, Mastercard SecureCode, or similar 3D Secure checks). This is an extra layer of security required by many banks where you might have to enter a code sent by your bank or a password you set up. If prompted, follow the instructions to authorize the payment. This helps prevent fraudulent use of your card.
When Am I Charged?
You will be charged at the time of order placement (when you submit your order at checkout). For card payments, this means the charge will typically show as pending or posted on your bank account within minutes of confirming the order. For PayPal, the funds are deducted from your PayPal balance or linked account immediately upon order confirmation.
In the event of any issue (for example, if a product is unavailable and we cannot fulfill the order), we will promptly refund the charged amount back to your original payment method and notify you via email or phone.
If you cancel an order before it has been dispatched (see our Return & Refund Policy on how to request a cancellation quickly), we will void the transaction or issue a full refund right away. Typically, you will see the refund confirmation on our end within 1-2 business days, but it might take your bank 5-7 business days to reflect the refund in your account, depending on their processes.
Payment Issues and Troubleshooting
If you encounter any problems during checkout or payment, here are a few tips:
- Card Declined: Double-check that you entered the card details correctly (number, expiration date, CVV, and postcode/ZIP if required). Sometimes, transactions are declined by the bank for security reasons, especially if it’s an unusual purchase or large amount. If your card is declined, you may want to contact your bank (sometimes a quick call can resolve any hold) or try a different payment method.
- 3D Secure Failed: If you did not complete the 3D Secure verification or it failed, the payment won’t go through. Try again and ensure you complete the verification step. If you forgot your 3D Secure password or didn’t receive the SMS code, you’ll need to follow your bank’s procedure (which could be resetting the 3D Secure or checking if your phone number is up to date with them).
- PayPal Issues: If you cannot complete payment via PayPal, ensure that your PayPal account has a valid funding source linked (bank or card) and that you’re not exceeding any limits. Sometimes PayPal might decline due to their internal security. You could try using a card directly instead.
- Contact Us: If all else fails, reach out to us at contact@shedora.co.uk or call +44 7429 920478. We can help investigate the issue. If it appears to be a technical problem on our end, we will work on fixing it immediately. We can also guide you through alternate methods if needed.
Rest assured, we will never ask for your card details via email or phone out of the blue. If we need to assist you in placing an order, we might direct you to our website to input details yourself or, in special cases, process an order through our secure virtual terminal while you’re on the line – but you should always be cautious and only provide card information in a secure manner. Never share your PIN or online banking passwords with anyone; we will never ask for those.
VAT & Receipts
All our prices include VAT (Value Added Tax) where applicable. If you need a formal VAT invoice for your records or business, please let us know and we can provide one. Your order confirmation email serves as a receipt, but we can issue an invoice showing our VAT number and the tax breakdown on request.
For business customers or bulk orders, please contact us if you require any specific documentation or if you wish to discuss payment via bank transfer or purchase orders.
Fraud Prevention
For the security of our customers, we may perform anti-fraud checks on orders. In some cases, our team might reach out to you for additional verification if something in the order triggers a flag (for example, different billing and shipping addresses, or high-value orders with expedited shipping). This could be a simple email or call to confirm details. We appreciate your understanding, as these measures are in place to protect cardholders and our store from fraudulent activity.
If we are unable to verify an order that appears suspicious, we reserve the right to cancel it for safety. Should that happen, we will refund any payment made and attempt to contact you to explain.
Buy Now, Pay Later (Klarna, etc.)
(If applicable) At present, Shedora does not directly offer “buy now, pay later” plans such as Klarna, Afterpay, or Clearpay. If we introduce such options in the future, we will update this page with details, including any special terms. These services usually allow you to split payments or delay payment, subject to approval. If available, they would appear as options at checkout along with any necessary disclosures.
Currency Conversion
We only charge in GBP. If you are an international customer (and we’ve agreed to ship to you), your credit card company or bank will handle converting your currency to GBP. This means the final charge you see on your statement might be slightly different due to conversion rates and possibly foreign transaction fees from your bank. We have no control over those rates and fees. If you’re in the UK using a UK bank, this is not an issue since it’s all GBP.
Confidentiality
Your payment details are confidential. Our staff do not have access to your full card information from online orders, aside from what’s needed (like last 4 digits or transaction ID for refunds). We will never share your payment information with any third party except for the purpose of processing your payment as described. Please be cautious of phishing: Shedora will never send you an unsolicited email asking for your payment details. If you receive any suspicious communication claiming to be from Shedora asking for sensitive information, please inform us.
