Beautiful Plants For Your Interior
Terms of Service
Welcome to Shedora! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline the rules and regulations for using the Shedora website ( www.shedora.co.uk ) and for purchasing products from Shedora. By accessing our site or placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by the following terms. We have written these Terms in plain English to be clear and fair. If you have any questions or concerns about them, please contact us – we’re here to help and want you to feel comfortable shopping with us.
1. Company Information
Shedora (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our” in these Terms) is an online retailer of garden and shed products, based in the United Kingdom. Our main trading address (and correspondence address) is:
Shedora
28 Alexandra Terrace
Exmouth, Devon
EX8 1BD
United Kingdom
You can reach us by email at contact@shedora.co.uk or by phone at +44 7429 920478. Shedora is a trading name of our business. (If you send us mail or returns, please use the address above. Note that we do not operate a physical storefront at this address; it is our office/warehouse location.)
2. Use of Our Website
By using shedora.co.uk, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our site. We grant you a limited license to access and make personal use of our website, but not to download or modify any portion of it without our express written consent, except as necessary for page caching or as permitted by law.
- Account Registration: You do not need to create an account to browse or purchase, but if you choose to register an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. All information you provide to us must be accurate. If we suspect an account is being used fraudulently or in violation of these Terms, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate it.
- Prohibited Activities: You agree not to misuse our website. This includes not engaging in or promoting any illegal activity, not attempting to harm or hack the site, and not using our site content for any commercial purpose without permission. You must not use the site in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to the site or impairment of availability or accessibility.
- Intellectual Property: All content on the Shedora website, including text, images, graphics, logos, button icons, and software, is the property of Shedora or our content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or otherwise exploit any portion of the site for commercial purposes without our express written consent. You are welcome to link to our homepage, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation.
- Privacy and Cookies: Our Privacy Policy (see below) explains what personal data we collect and how we use it, as well as information about cookies on our site. By using our site or placing an order, you consent to such processing of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Information Accuracy
We strive to ensure that all information on our website is accurate, up to date, and complete. This includes product descriptions, pricing, availability, and content. However, mistakes can occasionally happen:
- Product Descriptions: We aim to describe and photograph products accurately. However, minor differences (such as slight color variations due to screen display differences or minor design updates by manufacturers) may occur. If a product you receive is not as described, you are entitled to return it (see our Return & Refund Policy).
- Pricing Errors: In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typo, error in pricing information from our suppliers, or technical glitch, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that product at the incorrect price. If your payment has already been processed and we need to cancel the order, we will issue a full refund immediately. We will contact you to inform you of the correct price and give you the option to proceed with the order at the correct price or cancel.
- Availability: We do our best to keep inventory status updated. If you order an item that unexpectedly turns out to be out of stock or unavailable for any reason, we will inform you promptly. You may choose to wait for restock (if applicable), select an alternative product, or receive a full refund. We apologize for any inconvenience if this situation arises.
- Site Content: The content on our site (such as blog posts, guides, or FAQs) is provided for general information and interest. It is not professional advice (e.g., gardening advice is given in good faith but you should consider specific conditions or consult an expert if needed). We reserve the right to update or change site content at any time.
4. Placing an Order
When you place an order on shedora.co.uk, you are making an offer to purchase the products in accordance with these Terms:
- Order Process: Browse our products and add any items you wish to buy to your cart. When you are ready, proceed to checkout. You will be asked for necessary details to complete the order (such as shipping address and payment information). Please review your order and details carefully before finalizing the purchase.
- Order Confirmation: After you place an order, you should receive an email confirmation from us acknowledging that we’ve received your order. This email is not an acceptance of your offer to buy – it’s just a confirmation that the order was received. The acceptance of your order (and the completion of the contract between you and Shedora) will occur when we dispatch the product to you, unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it (see Section 6 on Cancellations).
- Order Acceptance and Refusal: We may, at our discretion, refuse or cancel an order for reasons including but not limited to: the product is unavailable or out of stock, inability to process payment, suspected fraud, or identification of an error in the product information (including price). If we cancel your order, we will notify you and will not charge you (or will refund any amount already charged).
- Age Restrictions: You must be at least 18 years old or purchasing under the supervision of a parent/guardian to buy from our site. By placing an order, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Certain products (for example, sharp gardening tools) may be sold only to customers over a certain age; by ordering such items, you affirm you are of legal age to purchase them.
- Contract Formation: The contract between you and Shedora for the sale of products is formed when we send a dispatch confirmation email to you. This email signifies our acceptance of your order and will contain the tracking information for your shipment (if applicable). Prior to this dispatch confirmation, the order may be cancelled by either party (you or us).
5. Pricing and Payment
- Currency: All prices on Shedora’s website are listed in Great Britain Pounds (GBP). If you are purchasing from outside the UK (and we agree to ship to you), please note your payment provider will handle currency conversion.
- Taxes: Prices include any applicable VAT or sales taxes (if applicable) unless otherwise stated. If VAT applies, it is included in the displayed price. Should tax rates change, we reserve the right to adjust our prices accordingly, but any such changes will not affect orders that have already been placed and confirmed.
- Payment Methods: We accept a variety of payment methods for your convenience, including major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.), PayPal, and other methods as indicated on our Payment Information page. You must provide valid payment details and by providing them you confirm you are authorized to use that payment method.
- Payment Processing: Payment is typically charged at the point of checkout (at order placement). All transactions on our site are encrypted and processed securely through reputable payment gateways. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers; sensitive payment information is handled by our payment processor in accordance with strict security standards (PCI DSS compliant).
- Declined Payments: If your chosen payment method is declined or fails, the order will not be processed. Please ensure that billing details (such as the cardholder’s name and billing address) match those held by your bank, as mismatches can lead to declined transactions. If you encounter any issues with payment, you can try an alternate method or contact our support for assistance.
- Pricing Accuracy: We make every effort to ensure pricing is correct. If we discover an error in pricing after you’ve placed an order, we will contact you with the option to reconfirm at the correct price or cancel. If we’re unable to reach you, we may treat the order as cancelled. Of course, if the pricing error is obviously absurd (e.g., £0 or £10 for something that costs £100) we will likely not proceed with the sale at that incorrect price, as such errors are voidable.
6. Shipping and Delivery in Terms
We handle shipping and delivery with care. For full details, please refer to our dedicated Shipping Policy page. Key points include:
- Dispatch Time: Usually 1–3 working days to process your order.
- Delivery Timeframe: Typically 5–8 working days for standard delivery within the UK once dispatched.
- Delivery Areas: Currently UK only (unless special arrangement).
- Risk of Loss: Once delivered to your address (or safe place as per carrier), the product becomes your responsibility. During transit, it’s our responsibility. If a package is lost in transit, we will replace or refund it per our Shipping Policy.
- Delivery Issues: You must provide an accurate address and be available to receive the package or arrange collection if a delivery attempt is missed. If a package is returned to us due to incorrect address or unclaimed from a depot, we will contact you to arrange re-delivery (additional shipping fees may apply in such case).
All shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed, as delays can occur beyond our control. But we will do our best to inform you of any major delays.
7. Cancellation & Returns
Your satisfaction is important to us. Our comprehensive Return & Refund Policy (see above) forms part of these Terms. By making a purchase, you agree that you’ve had an opportunity to review our return terms. Here are the key highlights:
- Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off): If you purchase as a consumer (for personal use, not for resale), you have the legal right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, for any reason. We extend this to 30 days as our own policy. To cancel, you need to inform us (e.g., via email) within that time. You then have an additional 14 days (after notifying us) to return the items.
- How to Return: To initiate a return, contact us at contact@shedora.co.uk or +44 7429 920478. Returns should be sent back to our address (28 Alexandra Terrace, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1BD, UK) after contacting us. Please take reasonable care of the items while they are in your possession.
- Condition of Returns: For change-of-mind returns, products should be in new, unused condition with original packaging. You are allowed to inspect items as you would in a shop, but using them beyond that (e.g., assembling a shed item and leaving it outside, or using a tool extensively) may result in deductions from your refund for diminished value.
- Return Shipping Costs: If you are returning an item because you changed your mind or it doesn’t fit your needs, you are responsible for paying the return shipping cost. If you are returning an item because it is faulty, damaged, or we made an error, we will cover the return shipping.
- Refunds: Once we receive your returned item (or proof that you have sent it back), we will process your refund promptly. Refunds are usually made to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the return. For full details on timing and any deductions, see our Return & Refund Policy. We will also refund the original delivery charge for the order when you return the entire order (for partial returns, original shipping is typically not refunded unless the reason for return was our fault).
- Exchanges: If you wish to exchange, the simplest method is to place a new order for the new item and return the old one for a refund.
- Exceptions: Certain items may be exempt from the change-of-mind return right (e.g., custom-made items). We will clearly indicate on the product page if this is the case. Faulty items can always be returned, regardless of custom status.
- Statutory Rights: These Terms and our policy do not affect your statutory rights. If a product is faulty or not as described, you have remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to a full refund within 30 days of delivery for faulty goods, and the right to repair or replacement (or refund if repair/replacement is unsuccessful) for up to 6 months or more. We follow and support these laws – customer satisfaction and legal compliance are priorities for us.
8. Product Warranty and Quality
All products sold by Shedora are intended to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. We stand by the quality of the items we sell:
- Manufacturer Warranties: Some products may come with a manufacturer’s warranty (for example, tools or machinery might have a 1-year warranty). Where applicable, details of any warranty will be included in the product description or with the product packaging. These warranties are provided by the manufacturer, and we will assist you in making any claims under such warranties.
- Shedora’s Assurance: Even if a product doesn’t have a formal manufacturer warranty, as mentioned above, UK consumer law provides an implied guarantee that products will last a reasonable time. If you encounter a product issue outside of our 30-day return window, please reach out to us. We will work with you to address the problem appropriately, which may include troubleshooting help, contacting the manufacturer, offering spare parts, or other solutions. We want our customers to feel confident that they’ve made a lasting purchase.
- Installation and Use: Some of our garden/shed products may require assembly or installation. Please follow any instructions provided with the product. Shedora is not responsible for damages or injuries resulting from improper assembly or misuse of products. Always use products in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. If you have questions about assembly or safe usage, let us know and we may be able to offer guidance.
9. Limitation of Liability
While we aim to provide you with the best service and products, we need to set some limits on our liability:
- Personal Injury: We do not exclude or limit our liability for anything that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud/fraudulent misrepresentation. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain fully intact.
- Product Liability: Shedora is not the manufacturer of the products sold on our site. We will cooperate with any investigation into a product fault, but in general, our liability for any claim related to a product will not exceed the price you paid for that product. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses (such as lost profits, lost data, or inconvenience) that result from the use of our products or website, to the maximum extent permitted by law. For example, if a garden tool bought from us is defective and damages something in your garden, our primary obligation would be to replace or refund the defective tool, and we would not automatically be liable for the external damage. That said, we will always try to assist and do right by our customers within reason.
- Website Availability: We strive to keep our website up and running smoothly. However, we do not guarantee that the site will be available at all times or free from errors (we do maintenance and there’s always a possibility of technical issues). We will not be liable for any losses arising from the inability to use our site or delays in processing orders due to website downtime or technical glitches. We will, of course, work to fix any issues as soon as possible.
- Force Majeure: Shedora will not be held responsible for failure to fulfill obligations (like delivering on time) if such failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes events such as natural disasters, floods, fires, wars, acts of terrorism, transportation strikes, epidemics/pandemics, or other events (a “force majeure” event). If such events occur, we will notify you and do our best to minimize any disruption to your order.
- Indemnification: This point is more relevant for non-consumer use, but essentially, if you violate these Terms and it causes us damage or a legal issue, you agree to indemnify (compensate) Shedora for any costs or losses arising from your breach. (For ordinary customers using the site lawfully, this clause would rarely, if ever, come into play.)
10. Third-Party Links and External Services
Our website might contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, a gardening blog article may link to an external site for further information, or we might link to a manufacturer’s page for more details on a product). These links are provided for your convenience or reference.
Please note that Shedora has no control over third-party websites, and if you click those links, you will be subject to the terms and privacy policies of those external sites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about external links (for example, if a link is broken or leads to inappropriate content, let us know and we will address it).
11. Privacy & Data Protection
Your privacy is very important to us. Our full Privacy Policy is provided separately and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. It details how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. By using our website and services, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.
Key points include:
- We collect only the data necessary to process orders and improve your experience.
- We protect that data and do not sell it to third parties.
- We comply with UK data protection laws (UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018).
- You have rights regarding your personal data (access, correction, deletion, etc.).
Please review the Privacy Policy for complete information on these topics.
12. Changes to Terms & Conditions
We may update or amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or for any other valid reason. When we make changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date. For major changes, we might also notify registered users via email or a notice on the website.
Last updated: May 17, 2025.
It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for changes. Your continued use of the website after any modifications indicates acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with any changes to the Terms, you should stop using our site.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any separate agreements whereby we provide you services or sell you products shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. This means that a contract for the purchase of products through Shedora and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it will be governed by English law.
You and Shedora both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts under the applicable law if you prefer. These terms do not limit any consumer protection rights that you are entitled to under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
In the event of any dispute, we sincerely hope to resolve it amicably through our customer service. We encourage you to contact us first to discuss any issues before pursuing formal legal action. We take customer feedback seriously and will strive to find a fair solution.
